On our last day, we took two buses to get to the
Villa Borghesi gardens. I was hoping to do some sketching but it started to rain heavily. At least we weren't in a boat on the lake. We walked round the park and then went to visit
Villa Guilia, which housed some exquisite Etruscan relics.

Then we took a tram all round the northeast of the city and got off at
San Clemente. We had pizza at a dodgy cafe and then strolled along to the
Colosseum and
Constantine's arch to take photos. When the church reopened we looked at the upper church with its mosaic apse and chapel of
St. Catherine, then went down to the lower 4th century church which was damp and dark. Afterwards we got the bus to Piazza Venezia and had a reviving icecream.

In the evening we had dinner at
Vinando (not memorable this time) and then climbed the steps to
Campidoglio for a view over the ruins by night.
